The Library Foundation of Los Angeles celebrated the rich – and untold – history of restaurants and food in the City of Angels with To Live and Dine in L.A., an exciting project that spotlighted the Los Angeles Public Library’s vast menu collection.
We asked three contemporary chefs working in different parts of the city to reflect on their own relationships with food, and with all the stories that food helps them tell. In the spirit of the "To Live and Dine in L.A." project, they were also asked to comment on food inequalities in the city and to react to select vintage menus from the Library's collection.
The exhibit was curated (and corresponding book was written) by MacArthur Fellow and University of Southern California Professor, Josh Kun.
